An adventure in nostalgic joy....

- Mood:
Llama - Listening to: NKOTB baby!
- Reading: The back of the liquor bottle.
- Watching: Memories from my childhood.
- Eating: Limes in a coconut.
- Drinking: Is it a bad idea to mix liquor and beer?
The six-year-old still inside me has been squee-ing for a few days, and tonight it just got a whole lot worse! In fact, this journal is mostly an explanation for the new ID.
Here I am, on the first night that I don't have to do anything in a super-duper long time, and a bunch of friends are over, and I'll say it, I'm a bit tipsy. Okay, I'll admit it, I'm kinda sauced. Really, really sauced. In fact, I'm highly surprised and amused I can even type this well! (You all don't have to know how many times I've had to hit "backspace.")
Anyhoo, some friends are over and we were discussing how the New Kids on the Block are reuniting. Now, I'll admit, I was quite the fan when I was younger. Nevermind that I was six and had no idea what all that thrusting in the dances meant, but it still made me kind of excited...I definitely thought they had The Right Stuff (ha!). I had a Donnie doll and everything. Well, a few drinks later, I decided it would be a good idea to dig out all my old videos out, and we watched them. And holy crap, was that an embarassing time!
We all sat and judged. They were so ridiculously over the top it isn't even funny. We laughed....and laughed....and I thanked God that my mother never let me get that spiral perm I was dying for. Then, Step By Step (zing!) each of us admitted it, we're all kind of excited they're coming back. Okay, scratch that, we're all really, really excited. And out came the old cassette tapes. And my sketch pad. And now, as my friends dance around singing "Cover Girl" at the tops of their lungs (I really hope it's annoying the crazy guy who lives upstairs), I'm typing this up and uploading my new ID, which as soon as I'm sober again, will probably be coming down. Here's to hoping the Boys from Beantown are still Hangin' Tough (oh, somebody stop me!)
Are you judging me? WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME!?!?!? Oh, alright...I judge me too.....
